COVID-19 UPDATE

PARISH UPDATES

Mass Suspension
Public Masses have been suspended until further notice in response to the Governor's "Stay Home, Stay Safe" executive order.  During this time, please be assured that all scheduled Mass intentions will be fulfilled at the private Masses of our priests. In the meantime we encourage all parishioners to tune in to our parish live stream of Mass every Sunday at 10 a.m.
To watch daily Mass, visit the AOD's online database of streamed Masses available at: www.aod.org/livemasses

Confession Schedule
Private confessions remain available from 2-4 p.m. on Saturdays. These confessions are held outside and follow social distancing guidelines.

Church Building Remains Open

At this time, the Church building will remain open for private prayer Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. so that you may approach Our Lord who is fully present in the Tabernacle. Please note we are limited to less than 10 people in the Church at one time. Sanitizing products are at all entrances for visitors to use.

Adoration Chapel Closed
The 24-hour Adoration Chapel is temporarily closed due to the Coronavirus crisis.

Sacraments & Funerals

In accordance with the new AOD directives, funerals and baptisms are now permitted under certain conditions (i.e. no more than 10 people may be present). Please contact the rectory at 313-277-3110 for more information on these important updates and visit aod.org/emergencyresponse for specific details.

Rectory Office Closed
The Rectory Office is closed to visitors, until further notice. If you need to contact us, please call the rectory at 313-277-3110. The phones are being monitored and messages are retrieved and returned as promptly as possible. The AOD's directives regarding funerals and anointing of the sick have changed. In the case of an emergency, such as anointing of the sick or funeral preparations, please call the rectory and select the appropriate prompt. Your message will be given first priority and returned promptly.

Weekly Offertory Donations
Divine Child still needs your support. Although we are not celebrating Mass together in-person, we still have a need to maintain the church building, pay our staff, and, most importantly, continue our outreach ministries. We ask that, to the best of your ability, you continue to make your weekly offertory donations, either by:
  • Mailing them to the Parish at 1055 N. Silvery Lane, Dearborn, MI 48128
  • Dropping it off at the Rectory (through the mail slot)
  • Or, online via Faith Direct

If your income has been adversely affected by the response to COVID-19, please contact our parish office to see if we can help you at 313-277-3110.

Porch Ministry
During times of need and crisis, we know that many in our community are at higher risk for infection and are working to quarantine themselves in their homes. For those individuals, we would like to begin a Porch Ministry where we are able to have volunteers reach out to the people in need to bring food and supplies to their porch. If you or someone you know in our parish or school community currently could use the support of having a volunteer deliver food and supplies to their porch, please reach out to us or have them reach out to us by calling the Rectory Office at 313-277-3110. If you are interested in volunteering to help those in need please also call the rectory at 313-277-3110.
