Fr. Jeremy Schupbach

Fr. Jeremy Schupbach came to Divine Child as an associate pastor in July 2023. He is currently the youngest priest in the Archdiocese of Detroit!

He has gone to Catholic school his whole life. His first school was home-schooling with his mom, which he says, "was probably even more Catholic than my time in seminary!" He went to Everest Academy for grades 4-12 before going to Franciscan University of Steubenville. After that, he attended and graduated from Sacred Heart Major Seminary.

Fr. Jeremy felt an attraction to the priesthood at a young age, but it was not until after his sophomore year of high school that he experienced a clear invitation from the Lord to follow Him in this radical way and through the grace of the Holy Spirit, said yes. He discerned that it was important for him to attend University before entering seminary, so he went to Franciscan where he pursued a degree in philosophy and then entered seminary after graduating.

Some of Fr. Jeremy's favorite hobbies include: reading, sports, camping and deep philosophical conversation. A great way to get him excited would be to talk about the Lord of the Rings books, the theology of Thomas Aquinas, Joseph Ratzinger, or John Paul II, or to invite him to play spikeball!
